Orange County will be a community where all children thrive.
The Children’s Cabinet of Orange County is a nonpartisan coalition of individuals and organizations working together to fulfill a common mission for the safety and well-being of children and families in Orange County, Florida. Our coalition is comprised of members who are committed to building a better community for children and families. The structure of the cabinet is based on a National Governor’s Association model and is designed to promote coordination and partnerships among groups and agencies devoted to working with children and families.
Our Mission
To provide the framework, advocacy platform and organizational model to foster integration, collaboration and development of all entities focused on creating positive outcomes for the children of Orange County.
Our Responsibilities
- To provide a forum for all agencies, programs, committees, consumers, concerned citizens and individuals to meet collectively in the best interest of children.
- To establish priorities and advocate for values based on the belief that every child has the right to be safe, healthy, educated, employable and economically secure.
- To educate and empower community resources to more effectively meet the needs of children in Orange County.
- To influence funding for children’s programs and projects to more adequately meet the greater needs.
- Provide leadership, expertise and accountability to ensure progress toward achieving the Cabinet’s mission.

Chair
The Cabinet Chair presides over all meetings of the Children’s Cabinet, serves as the official liaison with the community, appoints chairs of the Children’s Cabinet standing committees, appoint Ad Hoc committees to ensure efficient and effective operations, and serve as ex-officio member of all committees.

Vice Chair
The Vice Chair shall, in the absence of the Chair, be vested with all the powers of the Chair, assume the office of the Chair if that office is vacated, and carry out duties as delegated by the Chair.
